How to Get Rid of Skin Age Spots

In order to get rid of age spots, you need a skin lightener.  But, you have to be very careful about the one that you choose. Pay close attention and I will show you what is safe and what is not.

**Ingredients Are Key

There are many lighteners on the market. Some contain ingredients that can increase your risk of skin cancer. This article looks at the safe and effective ingredients that a skin lightener should contain. Let’s look at Babassu palm wax first.

**Babassu Palm Wax

The use of Babassu palm wax in skincare products eliminates the need for the use of paraffin. Like other petroleum-based oils and waxes, paraffin clogs the pores. Clogged pores are one of the causes of pimples. You don’t want to trade liver spots for acne, especially when you can get rid of both.

Babassu palm wax reduces itching, dryness and inflammation.  It can be used on both dry and oily complexions, which makes it an excellent choice as a base cream for a skin lightener. Now, let’s look at some of the more active ingredients.

**Natural Vitamin E

Natural vitamin E or alpha-tocopherol has long been recognized as an ingredient that can help to prevent age spots and other visible signs of aging, presumably because of its antioxidant activity. If you read the previous article, you will remember that the skin’s antioxidant content decreases with age while the number of free radicals increases. That’s sets the stage for all of the visible signs of aging.

Natural vitamin E is a good preventative measure, but it is not a skin lightener. Coenzyme Q10 may help lighten as it reverses sun damage.

You learned that sun exposure was the cause of most age spots in my last article. A form of COQ10 called Nano-lipobelle has been proven to reverse sun damage by 30% after three months of topical application.

** Keratin

One ingredient that is sure to work is Keratin. Keratin has numerous anti-aging benefits. The one that is most relevant to getting rid of senile freckles is this. It increases the production of superoxide dismutase and glutathione, two of the antioxidants that decline with age. The increased production of those antioxidants will help to reverse brown pigmentation caused by UV from the sun and toxins in the environment.

**Extrapone Nutgrass Root

Now, it’s time to talk about the most effective skin lightener ingredient available today. It is called Extrapone Nutgrass root and it is only available in a few all natural face creams. It actually inhibits melanin production. That’s something that Babassu palm wax cannot do.

Actually, none of the ingredients mentioned here will inhibit melanin production. They can work to help reduce liver spots by preventing and reversing free radical damage, because of their antioxidant activity. But, in order to see fast results, you need a skin lightener that inhibits melanin production.

**hydroquinone - NOT RECOMMENDED

The only other option for inhibiting melanin production is hydroquinone. Its use has been banned in Europe, because it is accompanied by an increased risk of skin cancer.

You might want to get rid of age spots.  But, you certainly don’t want skin cancer. With Extrapone and the other ingredients mentioned here, you will see the spot fade without worrying about causing yourself more problems.  More Information
